The Power of Perspective P3: The Miraculous

I love today’s world, where so many are finding heaven’s expression. The arts and creativity are leading us into a new renaissance, and opportunities abound for so many pursuing God-given dreams with their gifting and skills. I pray that this momentum continues, because the more that heaven invades earth through creativity, the more that chains will break, and the more the presence of God will begin to invade people’s lives.

I believe that we are living in a time that God is beginning to take truths established in previous generations, and with a masterful hand, build on them to manifest a greater Kingdom expression in the earth.  We are living in a time where revelation that used to take 30 years to establish, may only take 3 years to establish. In times of transition like this, it is easy to lose perspective. I would like to ground us with one more truth that can never go away as long as we live in these earthly bodies. One more time, let’s realign our life according to a Kingdom perspective.

Perspective #3: Matthew 10:8 in the New Living Translation says: Heal the sick, raise the dead, cure those with leprosy, and cast out demons. Give as freely as you have received!

No matter where we find ourselves in life, no matter what season, no matter what assignment, we cannot forget that this Kingdom is a Kingdom of POWER. Jesus’ command and our follow through to heal the sick and to raise the dead is a proclamation to every principality and power in the heavenly realms that His infinite and boundless wisdom has been put on display through Jesus Christ. When we received Christ, we received POWER. That power is in us as a river that flows through our voices, our gifts, and our actions. Get some perspective and take a look at how God has advanced the Kingdom through his people throughout history. It’s ALWAYS been by preaching that was backed up by demonstrations of the miraculous. In fact, in the early days of the church, the Bible implies in Acts 19:11 that miracles were so common, that “God did EXTRAORDINARY miracles through Paul”.

Miracles are to be a regular occurrence in the Kingdom. Expressions of power and even extraordinary miracles, dead raisings, and angelic encounters are a natural part of Heaven‘s influence and extension into the earth. It’s not only a command, but the fruit and proof of the sons of God in the earth. We were born to do the impossible, things that confound this world and put the wisdom of God on display. Today I challenge you to go for miracles, to go for the impossible, to bring the dead back to life, and in doing so, to transform the world as we know it for generations to come.

The Power of Perspective P2: Reigning in Life

One of my main goals in the past 5 or 6 six years has been to truly understand and see myself as God sees me. Getting His perspective on my life has exposed lies that lead me into deception. There is a discernment that must be made in our thinking and believing to find out whether a belief is a truth from Heaven or a tactic of religion. I began a journey of getting my inside world as healthy as possible, knowing that the healthier my inside world got, the more influence it would begin to have on the world around me. I started putting some man-made theologies and ideas about God and myself on the chopping block. I then began to replace them with fresh revelation from Holy Spirit and truth from the Word of God. As a result, my life began to change immediately and it has never stopped.  Let’s realign our inside world with some kingdom perspectives!

Perspective #2:  Isaiah 60:3 The Voice translation declares: Nations north and south, peoples east and west will be drawn to your light, will find purpose and direction by your light. In the radiance of your rising, you will enlighten the leaders of nations.

In us is a purpose so profound and an influence so arresting, that nations and leaders of nations are to be drawn to and influenced by it. How do we reign in life at this level? Matthew 6:33 instructs us to “seek first the Kingdom of God AND His righteousness”. Seeking His righteousness isn’t a separate thing in my opinion, but instead is the key to a powerful inside world.  Let’s think of it this way; to the measure that the righteousness of God is seen in our life and behavior, we will reign in this life. All of God’s promises are an invitation for us to rule and reign in this life, to overcome, and to bring chaos into order.

His design for every believer is royalty. His intention for all His people is that we would reign as kings in life. Do people abuse this and make it a self-centered pursuit? Yep. But never the less, God is redefining His intention for our lives by changing our perspective from beggars to kings. As kings on the earth, we have the ability and the resources to fix problems. A good earthly king would never walk by a problem in his kingdom and ask “Who is going to fix this?”.  Because of his unique perspective, he understands that it is HIS RESPONSIBILITY to fix the problem. SOLVING PROBLEMS IS THE WAY OF ROYALTY. Kingdom royalty by its very nature will change the world because it takes a servants heart and puts it in a position of authority and abundance for the sake of those around them.

The Power of Perspective P1: Making Disciples

Perspective is an extremely powerful tool! In our community, we value perspective very highly because it has the potential to reveal truth. One of the great gifts that we have as humans and even kingdom people is the ability to focus on an idea or goal in a way that causes it to become very influential in the earth. But along with this gift, there is an equally great pitfall that accompanies it; we can lose perspective. We can become tunnel visioned, ignoring the greater goal that Holy Spirit is leading us towards and pointing us to. If perspective is a revealer of truth, then we must seek it out, we must surround ourselves with people that can provide it, and we must allow its voice to have weight in our lives from time to time. Since we are kingdom people, let’s realign our life with some kingdom perspectives!

Perspective #1:  Mathew 28: 18-20 NLT Jesus came and told his disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

Ok, let’s get some perspective. Jesus is killed, is dead for three days, rises from the dead, and has one message, some of His last words to His brothers… and He says what? Let’s let truth reveal itself to us. Jesus put’s His entire life, death, and resurrection into perspective by commanding His followers to MAKE DISCIPLES.  Does that hit you in the chest like it does me? It’s very interesting the perspective that this truth brings. It forces us to reckon with the course and values of our lives. It forces us to put a heavenly priority on the things we hold valuable and important. And most importantly, it demands that we answer this question, “Am I discipling world changers for the Kingdom?”

Many are asking for more power, more finances, more influence and more favor. We hear it and see it in the songs we sing, we see it online, and in social media. But I believe that if we align ourselves with God’s heart for the planet, we’ll see an explosion of power, influence, and favor like the world has never seen.

Kingdom Curators Part 3: Permission to be Powerful

We are entering a new kingdom season where God is shifting how he does business with his people. The emphasis is moving from heaven being a faraway place, to being present and accessible now. He is awakening us to a position where transformation is released on a global scale through partnership with His people. In this partnership, He is going to release divine answers to problems. We are going to dismantle the works of darkness like never before and soar to new levels of creativity.

The earth is transformed when who you are becomes one with Him. Your continual yes is the joining of His world and our world together. This love collision releases redemption, transformation, and answers over the world’s systems, economies, and governments. Heaven on earth means the banishment of fear, disease, and premature death. It means that hope, beauty, and creativity are catapulted into a large-scale release that it is intoxicating and contagious. It is literally Heavens atmosphere overtaking the earth.

In 2 Chronicles, God spoke to King Solomon in a dream and said, “Ask whatever you want me to give you.” The result was unprecedented prosperity, peace, and glory for Jerusalem and Israel. Do we not have the same promise? John 15 says, “If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.” The Father’s glory is the result of partnering with His heart, and ASKING. Solomon was one man. What if every believer on the earth rose out of shame, abandonment, and a victim mentality in order to partner with God in their hearts desires?

Many people sense no permission to move forward and advance the kingdom without a command from God. Actually, our permission is found in our identity when we begin to dream with Him. The kingdom is at hand and all of its treasures are waiting to be released through us. We have more permission and authority than we realize on this earth!  Ephesians 1 declares:  “The church, you see, is not peripheral to the world; the world is peripheral to the church. The church is Christ’s body, in which he speaks and acts, by which he fills everything with his presence.” You are important. You are the way in which Christ speaks and acts in the earth, and what is His goal? To fill everything with His presence!

We are carriers of the atmosphere of another world. When you walk into a room, the options for everyone in it instantly change. Where there were only options for fear, depression, and hopelessness, now exist options for hope, life, healing, and destiny. His presence in you and on you is an encounter for everyone you meet. It is light dispelling darkness. It is pulling heaven to earth in a love collision that overrules earth’s laws and limitations. You have permission to change the world. What would you do if you truly believed that God trusted your heart to advance the Kingdom of Heaven on Earth?

Kingdom Curators Part 2: Heavenly Priorities

TRANSCRIPT

We have learned to tell the difference between the kingdom of heaven and the kingdom of darkness, but do we know what it takes to create an ecosystem where the kingdom of heaven can thrive? For example, we know that hate, crime, lies, murder etc. are all products of the kingdom of darkness, but are we as familiar with and are we able to diagnose the ecosystem that produces those things? Likewise, we know that the kingdom of heaven produces love, redemption, forgiveness, and so on, but do we really know, in a practical sense, how to build the type of ecosystem that produces those things as well?

What is a kingdom ecosystem and why is it so important? A kingdom ecosystem is the culture created by relationship, covenant, and family centered around the presence, infused with the values and priorities of heaven. Jesus changed everything when He said “our Father…” He placed a priority on covenant and family as the highest value. Ephesians 3:15 stresses the importance of family and identity by declaring “…from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name.” From the beginning, family was designed to wreck the world. At the core of family are safety, identity, freedom, love, and connection.

How do we build a kingdom ecosystem? We create a kingdom ecosystem by what we believe and how we steward the heavenly activity in us and around us as the result of our believing. A healthy kingdom ecosystem produces kingdom activity that dominates in the form of heaven on earth. Our kingdom ecosystem releases a dominion that overrules fear, sickness, disease, poverty, mental illness, divorce, crime, and death. This kingdom ecosystem is tended by a like hearted family that coalesces around similar assignments and calls in the earth. What is the goal of a flourishing, healthy, kingdom ecosystem? To take over and devour the earth with its health!

Right now God is creating ecosystems that are increasing the momentum of the dominion of the kingdom of heaven. There is a resounding call from the Spirit of God resonating across the earth awakening hearts and lives to who they are and to who they were always meant to be. How can we take part in this movement of kingdom curators?

We must value and center our lives around the presence and at the same time commit to connecting and staying connected to the ones in our community that have the same heart and similar assignments! There is no longer any room for fault finding, gossip, and disconnection. These things are the destroyers of destinies and will rob the mandate of an entire generation if we let it.

What kind ecosystem are you creating? Do you only surround yourself with people who think like you? Do you slander and find fault in the ones that God has called you to work alongside? Do you have a higher value for being right than being in relationship? Are you and what you believe at the center of your universe? Are you constantly comparing others to yourself and rejecting them if they don’t serve your “purpose”? We will never advance the kingdom by rejecting people as if they are not our favorite type of breakfast cereal.

We can no longer treat our relationships as disposable, shutting people out the moment we disagree with them. Brave people who choose connection and who instill the courage of heaven in the hearts of others ARE the leaders of the next generation. These leaders fight for relationships, carry heaven with no personal agenda, and lay down our their lives in a way that propels people into destinies and dreams greater than they have ever thought or imagined. They are not concerned with titles or rank, but measure their success by their relationships, the presence of God, and their unique ability to transform the world around them.

Kingdom Curators Part 1: A World Changing Kingdom

TRANSCRIPT

Recently my wife and I were talking about how to solve big problems that would affect a city in a transformational way. As we continued in our conversation, Holy Spirit arrested me mid thought and in an instant, spoke very firmly to me about our responsibility in seeing the kingdom expressed in the fullest possible measure in our city and region. He spoke to me about a community of supernatural people who are free of competition and full of love. People who aren’t afraid to take risk and who through intimacy and encounters with Him, have discovered His heart and in doing so, have discovered a blueprint of heaven on earth. He calls those people His disciples.

Making disciples is a fairly well accepted idea in the church. It’s hard to get around it since Jesus actually commissioned us to do it in Matthew 28:19. But what kind of disciple is heaven looking for? What is a disciple’s role at the city level? What do disciples believe? What is their world view? Below are some of my thoughts. I am on fire to see these things manifest. I hope you will be stirred by them as well.

Disciples of the Kingdom are the ones who draw the line that says “enough is enough”. They decide where darkness does not encroach. They are the ones that determine health of the city, the influence of a region, and create the launching pad for the next generation.

Disciples of the Kingdom are not only zealots for personal salvation, but they are apostle-like in the sense they can carry and unpack the culture of heaven and distribute them into nations. Disciples make disciples, but disciples are also called to disciple nations.

Disciples of the Kingdom should be supremely good at bringing the full expression of the kingdom of heaven into their city and region. They are carriers of The Voice for their city and articulators of heavens plans and agenda. They are free of competition and are uniquely equipped to empower others in their heaven on earth assignment. They are there to ensure that the fullness of the kingdom’s potential is experienced by all, and that all are empowered to carry its experience.

Paul’s prayer in Ephesians 1:16-23 unpacks so much about this Kingdom to us. It says:  “I have not stopped thanking God for you. I pray for you constantly, asking God, the glorious Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, to give you spiritual wisdom and insight so that you might grow in your knowledge of God. I pray that your hearts will be flooded with light so that you can understand the confident hope he has given to those he called—his holy people who are his rich and glorious inheritance.

I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms. Now he is far above any ruler or authority or power or leader or anything else—not only in this world but also in the world to come. God has put all things under the authority of Christ and has made him head over all things for the benefit of the church.  And the church is his body; it is made full and complete by Christ, who fills all things everywhere with himself.”

As Kingdom builders, our core function is to bring a heavenly encounter to people whereever we go. To tell them what heaven thinks about them, and to let them know that when Jesus died, they were born change the world. We are declarers of heavenly dreams and ideas, carriers of divine wisdom and revelation. We are prophets of hope and restoration, apostles of redemption and transformation. We are disciples who are called to disciple nations and change the course of world history by putting His goodness and glory on open display in our cities and regions. We are shifters of world events, revealers of divine destiny, and curators of world history. Our calling is high, heavenly, and hope-filled. We were born for more. We were born to carry a Kingdom that changes the world.

Men of Honor Part 3: HUSBANDS | Audio Blog by Clint Kahler

TRANSCRIPT

If there’s is anything that the church has gotten wrong over the generations, it is the husband and wife relationship. Men have been controlling, demeaning, and enslaving women since the beginning of time. News flash! It should not be so among us as kingdom men!

Scripture does not support the common view that many church leaders have of women as sub par humans in the kingdom. In fact, show me a woman who has been subjugated, and I’ll show you the boyish man she is married to who has heart issues, ego problems, and is covering up his insecurities with fake power. What then is our definition as husbands in the kingdom? Glad you asked.

1 Corinthians 11:3 in The Passion translation sheds some light on our roles as husbands: But I want you to understand that Christ is the source of every human alive, and Adam was the source of Eve, and God is the source of the Messiah.

You may be familiar with this passage. Many translations use the word “head” instead of the word “source”. This is misleading at best, and here is why. When modern western Christians read the word “head”, we think it means “head over”, “chief”, or “ruler”. This translation could not be farther from the truth. To say that Christ is the head of every man means that he is the source of our life and faith as the head of the body of Christ. Christ is the “head” as in the head, or headwaters of a river. Are you starting to get a picture of our role as husbands?

Men, we are headwaters in our marriage and family. This means that life is flowing out from and empowering every person in our household. Not ruling, but empowering. Men and women are different, but we are still equal. A good husband will empower his wife to be everything that she has been created to be. Empowered wives are free from having to be both sides of a relationship. When a woman is married to a boyish man, she has to fill the role of husband AND wife. This situation will cause our wives to become angry and controlling. But a woman who is secure in the fact that her husband is a king, never feels the need to control. She is at rest and secure in operating as the other half of the team.

This husband and wife relationship is an extremely powerful picture of the kingdom of God, between Christ and the Church. Men, this is what Jesus has done for us: He brought stability, peace, order, and life into the chaos. He partners with us to empower us to become everything that He’s created us to be. And that is a True man of honor.

Men of Honor Part 2: FATHERS | Audio Blog by Clint Kahler

TRANSCRIPT

We can’t talk about being kings without taking the time to talk about being fathers. Fathers play a crucial role in every generation. In fact, the absence of fathers caters to the plans of the enemy by abdicating the responsibility to raise and release the ones coming after them. Fathers are the torch bearers that make the hand off of kingdom transformation and advance from one generation to the next.

There’s a deeper purpose for being a father, and that purpose is found in our kids. Your children are your message to the future. Everything that you do now, affects who your children will be as adults. They are your legacy. It’s your stamp on a world that you have yet to see. Our kids are like time travelers from our own lifetime into the next.

This new mentality empowers us to operate with greater purpose. It calls us to attention and demands that we behave differently. It demands that we behave as stewards and managers. It demands that we see ourselves as great servants to a greater goal. It demands that instead of just seeing our children, that we see INTO them. If we can see into them, then we can purposefully and with great intention, begin to touch those things that have been planted there by the Master. We can begin to call them forth. And as we call out those things, the future will begin to shape and shift, bowing to our words. It will begin to react and respond to the voice of the sons of God.

Even if you yourself are not a father to a biological child, you are not off the hook! We are here to make disciples of nations. That starts with the one. Find one. See them how God sees them. Tell them who they are. Tell them that they were born for greatness. Tell them that they are significant in the kingdom. Tell them that they were born to change the world.

Men of Honor Part 1: KINGS | Audio Blog by Clint Kahler

TRANSCRIPT

Currently, we are not only redefining what it means to be sons and daughters of God, but we are also sensing the challenge to re-present what it means to be a man in both the traditional and modern sense. There are at least three types of men existing in the earth: apathetic men, boyish men, and kings.

Apathetic men have had the wildness tamed out of them. They show little feeling, interest, enthusiasm, or concern. They are the Al Bundy’s and the Archie Bunkers of society.

Boyish men have never matured past their own self-centeredness. They throw temper tantrums and use anger, pouting, bullying, and complaining as fake power in order to control and demean others that they may validate self, titles, and positions.

Kings, however, are an entirely different breed.

Revelation 1:5-6  in The a passion Translation declares: “and from Jesus Christ the Faithful Witness, the Firstborn from among the dead and the ruling King, who rules over the kings of the earth!
Now to the one who constantly loves us and has loosed us from our sins by his own blood. and to the one who has made us to rule as a kingly priesthood to serve his God and Father—to him be glory and dominion throughout the eternity of eternities! Amen!”

Let’s briefly explore what it means to be a king. Kings bring love, peace, and order to an environment. They have a heart of stability, peace, and love. A king says, “I am here to protect the borders of this home and to care for and cherish the queen and the children of this house.”. Kings give, communicate, open their hearts, and are emotionally vulnerable. Men, we are kings and priests. We restore order and are vigilant against anything that comes to kill, steal, or destroy. We have the God given authority to reveal His nature and display his character in ways that redeem, renew, and empower.
